OUR award-winning JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum is a stellar example of how people from all walks of life, come together for a common purpose of making our community a better place for all!
The Arboretum has been a genuine showcase for people all across our state (and beyond in some circumstances) through it many quality public events, horticultural practices and it sheer ambience of beauty.
Since its inception in 1998, the Arboretum has been an extraordinary attraction and gathering destination for the state Senator Donald Roch Riverwalk, the Riverpoint COMMUNITY Park and the strategic location for the area bikepaths, walking trails and related environmental economic development scene ~ Riverpoint Village revitalization.
Although our initial undertaking was an extraordinary feat in its design, construction and maintenance, the Arboretum after a whole decade plus, has two(2) significant issues:
1) regular maintenance through the planting season from April - November
2) the attack of some vicious vandalism to its nursery stock and casement
We are truly calling on your HELP and SUPPORT to continue the beauty, serenity and ecological expression one experiences through the dedicated efforts of our several JAYCEE leaders.
Until the town actually installs a new gateway and decorative boundary fence along with the required spot lighting (which was a component of the initial Plan), we must step up our vigilance to keep The Arboretum a safe, clean and enjoyable place for everyone!
Please consider giving an hour or two a month to assist with some of the vital tasks in keeping The Arboretum looking good ..... as well as taking a drive, parking your car and taking a pleasant stroll along the Arboretum, through the Eagle Scout Trellis into the portal of the Roch Riverwalk on a weekly basis.
Such simple and periodic actions will assure that The Arboretum will be attended to in warding-off vandals and careless visitors while cooperatively maintaining the extraordinary luster of Mother Nature's appeal!
We recently had some damaged done to our historic Indian Display Case, which took quite some time to locate a skillful person to becon its restoration as well as having some deliberate evil pranksters destroy one of our main roots of a gorgeous Boxwood shrub and several White Ash branches, too. This is not to mention the excessive LITTERING that has been going on to boot! ---->
These are expensive items that were cultivated with tremendous time, sacrifice and cost and to fall at the whim of a few destructive deviants, well it's just plain unconscionable and disheartening to say the least.
Please come and demonstrate your faith, commitment and love for the one and only, JAYCEE Corridor & Arboretum! ~ Thank You!
A Proud & Productive TREE CITY/USA Community
